Senior guard Brandon Kamga has been the stronghold for the Varsity Basketball team since his freshman year. In October, Brandon verbally committed to Northeastern, a private university in Boston, Massachusetts.

Northeastern is known for having an excellent Division I basketball program and even better academics.

“I picked Northeastern for their reputation academically and [because] they play in a good basketball conference,” Kamga said.

The Huskies were picked to win the CAA Men’s Basketball title by the league’s coaches.

“I met with some guys on the team and even though they’re picked to win it, they aren’t satisfied. They want more than that,” Kamga said. “And I think it will carry on into next year because that’s my class that’s going in and we don’t expect anything less.”

When asked about Head Coach Bill Coen, Kamga said, “Coach Coen is a great person. I love how he is upfront with me and tells me everything straight up. I think I will love playing for him.”

Coach Coen has also been in contact with Kamga about attending some close games like JMU, W&M, and Towson.
