Students Participate in CyberPatriot Competition

Three dedicated teams of students, including one all female team, are participating in the national CyberPatriot program.  The CyberPatriot program was founded by the Air Force Association to inspire high school students towards careers in cybersecurity or other STEM fields.  At after school meetings, teams of students prepare to compete in a virtual competition in which they are required to find and fix vulnerabilities in computer software.  This helps them learn valuable skills in in-demand fields- there is a skilled workforce shortage in cyber security.

Zach Hartke, a participant in the competition, is very satisfied with the program.

“Cyberpatriot taught me things I wouldn’t otherwise know, in a field that I am considering going into.” he said.  “It’s a great program.”
