As of Jan. 29 the BBC reported that Israel is refusing to allow United Nations Human Rights Council inspectors into the country to perform a regularly scheduled investigation on Israel’s human rights situation. This makes Israel the first member of the UN to deny a scheduled inspection, even North Korea has allows HRC inspectors into its borders.
The HRC is a vital organ for membership in the UN, and by denying an HRC inspection it is no less than an admission of guilt for the continuing human rights violations in Palestine. It’s obvious that Israel has something to hide, or has just become fed up with the attention placed on it by the Western Media following the Gaza Conflict in late 2012.
