Senior Danielle Hale placed in three field events and two relays to contribute to the Seahawks’ victory in the girls division of the Wildcat Track Classic, April 26 at Mountain View High School in Stafford, Virginia.

Twenty-three teams competed in the meet.

Hale scored points in the long jump (17-01.25, second), shot put (30-04.00, sixth), discus (96-00, fifth) and high jump (4-08.00, eighth). She teamed with sophomore Golden Kumi-Darfour, junior Jordan Lozama, and senior Grace Gillen to win the Swedish Sprint Medley (200m, 100m, 100m, 400m) in 1:51.36. Hale ran the anchor leg of the 4×100 meter relay team of freshman Devyn Jones and juniors Delaney Wickman and Lozama that finished second with a state standard time of 49.03.

Wickman, running the 200 for this first time this season, finished second with a 25.48, which qualifies her for the state meet in that event. Junior Comfort Reed won the triple jump (35-08.75) while fellow juniors Ozioma Chinaka, Claire Nieusma, Gabrielle Acosta and senior Abby Reinhold won the 4×400 meter relay.

The SLHS boys’ team finished third and was paced by senior Khayri Denny’s win in the long jump (21-03.75). Denny also joined seniors Ben O’Connor, Marcus Harrell, and Daniel Johnsen on the winning Swedish Sprint Medley team (1:36.31).
