Since 2009, movie ticket purchases have decreased by 350 million. This may be due to the rising cost of movie tickets, or the different ways of watching and obtaining movies, rather than going to the theater. Among the popular movie distributors are Netflix, Redbox, and Blockbuster.
For $7.99 a month, Netflix allows you to get an unlimited number of movies you can watch at home or instantly on your computer.
Or, for $1 a day, you may choose a movie to watch from Redbox. Thousands of red-movie venders are scattered all over the country. With these two options, it is so simple to watch movies right at your finger tips.
With the modern form of obtaining movies electronically these days, Blockbuster has moved on like the rest of the movie distributors, closing many of its stores. Starting in 2008, Blockbuster Express was created, having thousands of Blockbuster Express kiosks scattered all around the country for $1 a day, also.
Going to the theater is always a great way to go out with friends, but if money is tight, it is so easy now a days to get any movie of your choosing.
My summer plan is to host as many movie nights as possible. My friends and I can watch a movie on the computer, television, or even our iTouch. With Netflix’s instant streaming, we can watch multiple movies right after another.
Movies that are on the top of my Netflix queue are “Scarface” and “American Gangster,” both having a rough drama genre which interests me.
According to imdb.com, an online database on movies and other entertainment medium, the most voted movie is “The Shawshank Redemption.” I have seen this movie, and thought it was great. The plot, acting, and emotion made it worth watching, and worthy of holding the spot of number one.
Next on the list is “The Godfather I”, “The Godfather II”, and “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”.
A very popular and nominated crime film, “Pulp Fiction”, marks the fifth top movie on IMDB’s top 250 movie list.
So, when your wallet is empty, think about hosting your very own movie night. Netflix comes with a one month free trial.
With so many options, you really don’t need to spend money to have fun.
