One day you will be on your way to your last practice, one day you will be shaking your opponents hands for the last time, and one day you are no longer going to be able to play the game you love.
Softball is full of uncertainties. When you can no longer say “I play softball,” it would be as predictable as knowing the exact details of your future.
You may already have an idea of your life plan including job, spouse, and more. However, when it comes down to it, it is impossible to be certain about what will happen until it actually happens.
There are many ways to improve your chances of achieving your goals in both life and softball but nothing can make your dreams definite. Also, unexpected events may occur that ruin your chances in the blink of an eye, whether it is an injury or a crisis.
Whether you play softball just for fun, you only want to play on your high school team, or you wish to reach collegiate level, you can never take any moment for granted. Life can change in a second and the last thing you want is to see your softball dream come crashing down.
Every moment on the field is precious and something to worship. You have to focus on what you can change and enjoy your experiences instead of stressing about the unknown.
Your one day will happen. It may happen any day now, it might not happen for a few more months, or it may be years until it happens. There is no way of knowing when it will happen but it will. Appreciate the game that is a part of your life, big or small, while you can.
