We live in a world where college is heavily encouraged for students to complete – but what if the cost of the university deters you? College of the Ozarks is a liberal arts college located in Missouri that integrates learning, work, and service. Students who attend this school pay for college in a unique way- with their hard work and labor. In exchange for paying tuition to the school, students who attend the College of the Ozarks work on campus. This program is called the student work program, and all students at C of O participate.

The mission of C of O is to deliver “the advantages of a Christian education for youth of both sexes, especially those found worthy, but who are without sufficient means to procure such training.” The school hopes to develop their students into well-educated, hard-working citizens. The student work program includes jobs that keep the campus running, such as the food industry and technological jobs.

College of the Ozarks delivers important life skills to their students. Each student who attends walks away with the knowledge to balance school, work and play. If you wish to attend a university or college but cannot afford it, College of the Ozarks could be the place for you.
