The Life of the Showgirl is popstar Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, which will be released on October 3rd, 2025. This album features Swift as the central “showgirl,” exploring her lifestyle on tour with the bright lights, exciting crowds, and upbeat music. It also explores the private part of her life, showing the exhaustion and mental stimulation that goes on behind the scenes. 

Swift announced her album during an episode of the “New Heights” podcast with her NFL boyfriend, Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce. In the beginning of the podcast, Swift and Kelce talked about their meeting and Kelce’s viral moment in using “New Heights” as a so-called “dating app” to reach out to Swift. The singer also shared her hobby of baking different types of sourdough bread. Swift shared stories of her famous Eras Tour and how she developed the show into the highest grossing music tour in history.

Later in the podcast, Swift discussed her upcoming album theme as upbeat and energetic. She mentioned how it is a “180-degree turnabout” from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. For her 12th album, producers Shellback and Max Martin are collaborating with Swift like on her previous albums Red and 1989. Swift also revealed the 12 song track list with their titles and a feature of pop artist Sabrina Carpenter.  

Swift is known for “Easter eggs,” which are clues for her fans on what her next move will be, whether it’s new music, a new tour, or a movie. On the podcast, the popstar discussed many of her clues, confirming the biggest Easter egg to the new album was her leaving in an orange door after the last Eras Tour show. It symbolized her entering a new era and leaving behind her tour. Now that Swift has confirmed The Life of a Showgirl, fans are eagerly waiting for new “Easter eggs” about the album until its release on October 3rd.
