In the limited series category, Adolescence had six major wins, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. This coming-of-age drama also made history, when 15 year old Owen Cooper won for Lead Actor in a Limited Series, becoming the youngest male Emmy winner of all time.
HBO Max’s The Pitt, triumphed in the drama categories, earning Outstanding Drama Series and major acting awards. Actor Noah Wyle won his first Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama. In a surprising turn of events, Katherine LaNasa also won for Supporting Actress in a Drama. “And lastly, my children, for making me real,” LaNasa says in her heartfelt speech, “and my beautiful husband, Grant Show, for helping me always with everything.”
As mentioned above, the 2025 Emmy Awards wasn’t without its emotional moments. Hannah Einbinder, who had been nominated multiple times for her role in Hacks, finally won for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Her speech ended with a shocking, politically charged message: “Free Palestine,” which sparked many discussions across social media.
Despite leading with 27 nominations, Severance fell short in most categories, walking away with only a few Creative Arts Emmys. Similarly, other major competitors, such as The White Lotus and The Last of Us, surprised the audience by being largely shut out of the top awards.
