New in North Point Village Center is Call Your Mother, a Jewish bagel deli that is taking NoVa by storm with a delicious new blend of popular flavor palettes.
Call Your Mother (CYM) describes their bagels as a cross between a classic New York bagel and Montreal style bagel. Jewish cuisine also has an influence on their menu, as co-owner Andrew is Jewish and loves the nostalgia that Jewish food brings to the table. Opening in Park View 2018, the deli has seen new shops opening through DC, Maryland and Colorado.
To start off, I tried a classic sesame bagel with eggs bacon, cheese and honey- also known as “Sun City” on the menu. The bagel was hot and doughy, with the cheese and honey adding delicious flavor that could not be beat. In addition, the Royal Palm bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, red onions, and capers on an everything bagel was a beautiful addition to the menu. If you are interested in purchasing your own package of cream cheese, that option is yours.
CYM has no shortage of sweets and drinks. Frequenters have raved about their cinnamon roll babka muffin, a delicious warm combination of three iconic desserts. There is also a choice of freshly baked cookies and seasonal pastries! They also offer a sweet chai latte, delicious matcha, cold brews, and juices.
“I wanted to try it as soon as it opened up, the inside of the store is so cute,” said South Lakes Senior Mckenna Culkin. “The Grandezza bagel was definitely worth going back for.”
“I tried it with some of my friends and everybody was happy with what they got. I would say it tops all of the other bagel places near North Point that I’ve tried,” said Senior Hannah Siraj.
