As we gear up for summer, Reston Town Center (RTC) is offering free fitness classes under the pavilion as a part of their “Spring & Summer Sweat Series” from 6-7 pm on Mondays!
If you enjoy yoga, HITT, pilates, or other fitness styles, these classes will be the perfect way to stay active over the summer in an outdoor setting. With the weather warming up, any opportunity to step outside is welcomed! RTC has endless opportunities for fun, with shopping and food everywhere you look in a modern and clean area.
Yoga is a pleasant way to steady your body and your breath, providing a calming and mindful experience for all those involved. It’s a great way to increase your flexibility, but don’t think that it won’t make you stronger too! Pilates is a little bit more focused on strength training- emphasizing the deep core with precise movements with little to no weight. Although people often think of pilates as a light workout, it becomes increasingly challenging with every added set. HITT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, an exercise class based on short bursts of intense exercise with brief moments of rest. These classes will be more oriented towards burning calories and improve cardiovascular fitness in a time-efficient class. With any class you take at the Spring & Summer Sweat Series, you’ll leave feeling better than you did when you came!
Participating in fitness classes is a great way to meet new people who share the same interests as you. Instructors from Lululemon will provide details on each movement, steadying participants along the way. Exercising in the great outdoors with the blue sky overhead is a great way to boost your mood and reduce stress with your friends. Reston Town Center also offers several communal opportunities for gathering, such as a “Sunset Screening”, an outdoor showing of the Disney Pixar movie “Coco”.
In order to attend, be sure to register through Eventbrite, or through links via social media. Switch up your daily routine, get outside and breathe in the fresh air this summer!
