Fall is in the air in Reston. The new season brings many classic fall traditions and treats such as apple cider, fresh fruit, and baked goods. All of these can be found at Reston’s local farmers market, located at Lake Anne’s plaza every Saturday from 8am-12pm, April though November.
The farmers market has been around for the last 26 years in the Reston community. Over the last couple of decades, the market has evolved to include activities that are perfect to get you in the mood for fall, such as live music, baked goods, drinks, jewelry, clothing, and candles. In addition, the market’s produce stand is local within the DMV, giving you the ability to purchase a variety of different fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, seafood, syrups and jams from locally sourced small businesses and farmers.
This past weekend, I went over to the market to see for myself what the Reston community was doing to get themselves into the fall spirit. The market brought huge crowds with people of all ages, families, couples, friends coming this Saturday morning. The market had an abundance of produce stands selling apples, pears, squashes and many other different quintessential farmers market staples. In addition, there were many other local businesses selling bracelets and skirts perfect for fall fashion. I myself purchased spinach borek and a half gallon of apple cider. The vendors were all extremely kind and both my purchases were very delicious!
Overall, the Reston Farmers Market is a quintessential stable in the Reston community, bringing together local small businesses and artists that are perfect for your fall bucket list!
