The US Men’s National Team will be taking on Ecuador, on October 10th, at 8:30 PM EST. This US team has won two of their last five games, beating Japan 2-0. Player Alex Zendejas from CF America, scored in the 30th minute, and player Folarin Balogun from AS Monaco scored in the 64th minute. In their second game, they beat Guatemala 2-1 in the Concacalf Semi-Final, with Diego Luna from Real Salt Lake in the MLS scoring both the goals. They lost to Mexico 1-2 in the Concacalf Gold Cup Finals, with player Chris Richards, from Crystal Palace in the Premier League scoring in the 4th minute and South Korea 0-2. They tied one game against Costa Rica in the Concacalf Gold Cup Quarter-Finals, 2-2 with players Diego Luna and Max Arfstem scoring. They ended up in penalties and won 4-3. The US National Team has announced their 26 player squad for the upcoming October friendlies, this squad consists of goalkeepers Chris Brady, Matt Freese, Patrick Schulte, and the starting GK in Matt Turner. Next the defenders are Max Arfsten, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alex Freeman, Mark McKenzie, Tim Ream, Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson, and Miles Robinson. The midfielders selected are Brenden Aaronson, Weston McKennie, Aidan Morris, Cristian Roldan, James Sands, Tanner Tessmann, and Malik Tillman. Lastly the attackers selected are Patrick Agyemang, Folarin Balogun, Christian Pulisic, Tim Weah, Haji Wright, Alex Zendejas, and Diego Luna.
Ecuador has had a weird stretch of games, tying four games 0-0 against Paraguay, Peru, Brazil, and Chile and winning one against Argentina. Enner Valencia from Pachuca (a team in Brazil) scored in extra time of 13 minutes of halftime. This game had Nicolas Otamendi, from Benfica getting a red card in the 31st minute and Moises Caicedo, a star player for Ecuador and Chelsea in England, getting a red card in the 50th minute. This was a crazy game for Ecuador, as they got a win against World Cup Champions and the 2026 World Cup Favorites Argentina. USA have gone against Ecuador five times with them winning three times and Ecuador winning once, with a tie.
This game is called a friendly which is just two teams going against each other for fun but it will be a good game to watch as USA are the favorites and to see what this US team has for this upcoming world cup.
