Two years after making their relationship known to the public, the pop star and NFL player both announced their engagement news on a joint Instagram post on August 26. They used the caption, “Your English Teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” with a dynamite emoji to reference their couple nickname “TNT.” The couple also shared numerous photos from the special moment where Kelce popped the question in his backyard surrounded by a stunning floral arrangement.

“They were going out to dinner and she was ready to go and he said, “Let’s go out in the garden on the patio and have a glass of wine before we go,” Kelce’s dad said on Australian radio’s The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma.

“I think she knew something was up because as they walked out there, she could see, suddenly, there were a lot more flowers out there,” Kelce’s dad added.

The football star proposed with a ring he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The ring is an “old mine brilliant cut,” which Swift shows off in the series of photos posted. Both families are overjoyed about this news. There were toasts, happy tears, and celebrations with everyone.

“Donna (Kelce’s Mother) is already saving little things from this time like photos, notes and flowers,” the source told PEOPLE.

“She is very sentimental about it. She wants to remember every detail, so she has been holding onto mementos from their first days as an engaged couple,” the source said.
