Apple has been rumored to be featuring touchscreens in Macbooks starting as of 2025. Many have speculated that Apple may do this to rival their seasoned competitor, Microsoft. Microsoft’s latest models already have built-in touch screens onto their laptops. Despite past qualms of touchscreens on Macbooks, speculators say Apple may finally jump aboard.

This isn’t the first time that people have speculated tech giants creating major decisions like this. In fact, Apple was rumored to create their own car, and it was called Project Titan. Project Titan was said to be another electric car competing with Tesla. The autonomous vehicle would have an electric battery and it’ll be charged at electric car charging stations. The company was reported to have hired thousands of engineers to propel Project Titan.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, oversees the development of iOS and MacOS according to Apple. According to WWDC 2018, he has stated: “We feel that the ergonomics of using a Mac are that your hands are rested on a surface, and that lifting your arm up to poke a screen is a pretty fatiguing thing to do.” Federighi has worked with graphical user interfaces, and he doesn’t ever anticipate himself liking computer touchscreens. Apple has considered touchscreens ergonomically inferior.

Despite all of this, Apple has created the Apple Pencil, and the pencil has two generations. It is a magnetic pen that allows the user to complete their creative works, efficiently. The Apple Pencil has been considered to be a great tool for artists, despite Steve Jobs originally being against it. Even though Apple was against styluses in its earlier days, regardless, the Apple Pencil was released as technology advanced further.

In recent news, the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has decided to cut his salary by 50%. Tim Cook has said that he felt that his salary was too high ever since succeeding Steve Jobs in 2011. His compensation will be cut more than 40% and it’ll be approximately reduced to $49 million this year. It is believed that Tim Cook’s salary may have received a cut due to shareholders in Apple’s stock market.

Other than that, it may be likely that Apple’s computers may receive touchscreens if they wish to innovate their industry. Touchscreens have become popular and in today’s modern technology they are often implemented onto these devices. Macbooks may be expecting an upgrade in the near future!
