It’s the last day to register to vote in the Virginia primary! While voting is the most common way for citizens to affect public policy, voter turnout in the United States is lower than it is in many other developed nations. The trend is due to many factors, but the biggest contributing factor is that most people forget to register in time. There are numerous ways to register to vote in Virginia, but it is important to be informed. It is possible to register through the online voter registration website, at the DMV, at the local voter registration office, or through the mail. The Congressional positions up for re-election in the upcoming months include Republican Representative Comstock’s 10th district and Democrat Senator Kaine’s seat. Visit the DMV website for more details, and remember to get out the vote in June!
