A freshman runningback avoids a tackle as he drives the ball toward the end zone during the game against Herndon Sept. 19.

Freshmen and JV football team host Madison today.  Freshmen start at 5:45 p.m. and JV game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

JV’s record is 2-0, beating McLean 36-13 and Herndon 14-0. The freshman’s record is 1-1-0, defeating McLean 51-32 and tying Herndon 8-8.

Madison’s JV football team currently has a losing record of 0-2. The freshman team has a record of 1-1.

Freshmen coach Steven Brown is expecting offensive production from the running game.

“I want the running game to have a major impact on the game,” Brown said. “Defensively, we need to prevent big breakout plays from occurring and keep the ball in front of us.”

“We’ve been winning and losing back and forth, so it will be our most challenging yet exciting game of the season,” sophomore safety and wide receiver Jonathan Lindsay said.

“I want to see our offensive line block the way they’ve been blocking these past two games because that will be really crucial for the way the game will turn out,” sophomore quarterback Cameron DiBacco said.

Varsity will play at Madison Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
