On March 17, the official trailer for the new movie “The Maze Runner” came out on YouTube.

Just like “The Hunger Games” and “Divergent,” the movie “The Maze Runner” is the first of a trilogy based off a popular futuristic-dystopian book of the same name by James Dashner.

When Thomas wakes up in a lift, he can only recall his name. When the doors open he is welcomed by a group of boys to Glade. For as long as the boys know, every thirty days a boy is brought up in the lift, and just like Thomas, they can only remember their names. Thomas also learns of the stone maze that surrounds Glade. Each morning the maze opens and the boys venture in to look for a way out of Glade. No one wants to be trapped in the maze after dark though, because the maze closes trapping whoever’s inside.

A day after Thomas arrives, the lift comes up again unexpected and drops off a girl named Teresa and she has a message for Thomas. Now Thomas must discover the secrets in his mind to discover the truth about the unsolvable maze.

Cast includes Dylan O’Brien as Thomas, Kaya Scodelario as Teresa, Will Poulter as Gally, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt.

“The Maze Runner” is to open in theaters on Sept. 19, 2014.
