Global superstar Beyonce announced she will be releasing new music during a Super Bowl commercial this past Sunday. According to her website, a new album is set to be released on March 29. The album will be called “Act ll” and is supposed to be part two of her album Renaissance. When Renaissance was released she announced that it would be a three part project that she recorded during the pandemic, referring to Renaissance as being “Act l” of the project.
Beyonce joked with comedian Tony Hale in a Verizon commercial that aired after the halftime show about her doing something that could break the internet. She joked about being “Bar-Bey” and creating “Beyonc-A.I.” Near the end of the ad she brought up the idea of releasing new music in order to break the internet.
Sunday evening, after the commercial aired, Beyonce released two new singles that will be in her upcoming album. Her new songs are named “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” Included on her website are music videos and updated photos of her dressed up to fit her country album vibe. At the Grammys Beyonce was dressed in a cowboy hat with a country outfit to give easter eggs for the new album being dropped.
Overall many people are shocked about Beyonce doing a country album because her albums in the past have been pop, hip hop, and R&B. This album is going to be an acoustic country record. Fans are ecstatic for part 2 of the Renaissance project and can’t wait to listen to more Beyonce.
