Freshman Francis Bowen has a father who travels around the world to work in different embassies. Through his life Bowen has joined his father and experienced the multiple cultures.
What is the embassy?
The embassy is the United States’ way of keeping up with foreign affairs.
How often do you move?
Every two or three years I move to different countries. The first time I went out of the United States was to Cyprus and we lived there for two years.
Where else have you lived?
I lived in Bangladesh for three years, and my last post was in Namibia which is in southwest Africa.
What is the experience like?
Just getting to know different people and having more than 200 friends on Facebook. It’s really fun, especially if you want to travel later in life, it helps you a lot.
Out of all the places you’ve lived, which is your favorite?
That’s a hard choice but Namibia was definitely my favorite. I don’t miss the people there too much, but the country had an amazing experience. It had the best weather too.
