The girls’ soccer and lacrosse teams have a reputation to be unsuccessful.
That reputation is changing this year. The soccer team currently has a 4-2 record, and the lacrosse team is 4-0.
“The players coming in are better than the people who we lost last year,” said sophomore Colette Toma, “The team chemistry has also been key.”
Colette’s twin sister, Natalie, agrees that chemistry plays a huge role.
“There’s more chemistry this year,” said sophomore Natalie Toma, “We know each other a lot better than last year. I think that’s helped us to win more games.”
For lacrosse new players is the key.
“The freshmen this year are a lot more experienced compared to recent years,” said senior Samantha Chamberlin. “They are a great asset for the team.”
New coaching is also a factor in both teams’ successes.
“We have a new assistant coach that’s really good,” said Toma.
“We have a much stricter coach than last year,” said Chamberlin.
When most teams enjoy more success than in the past, attitude is often credited. Girls’ lacrosse is no different.
“We are all a lot more dedicated,” said Chamberlin, “We really want to win.”
