Senior Maddy Tate first realized that her thumbs were special while at a nail salon.
“I figured it out when fake nails wouldn’t fit on my thumbs,” Tate said.
Instead of feeling insecure about her unusual fingers though, Tate chose to embrace them.

“I thought they were kind of cool,” Tate said. “I think that they’re funny, and I like them because they’re unique and personal to me.”
Tate also enjoys seeing other people’s reactions to her clubbed thumbs.
“People normally say ‘Whoa, those are so weird’”, Tate said. “I just respond, ‘I know, but I like them.’”
