Teacher run organization for entertaining workshops

As school comes to a close English teachers Lisa Trigiano and  Lea Civiello volunteered to be in charge of organizing two of the make up days.

“There will be over 50 different workshops for students to attend,” Trigiano said. “They vary from chess to soccer. The options are endless.”

The county’s purpose is to motivate and encourage students to attend these last days.

”Kids realized the lax on these last few days,” Civiello said. “I believe it is a great idea to provide a reason for students to come to school-not just to learn but to have some fun.”

In order to to attend these workshops students must first sign up for each session. If any students show up to school without signing up, they will be sent home.

“With a little help from the tech guys, Ms.Civiello and I set up the signup link to the school website,” Trigiano said.

Both teachers hope to see a good turn out for their voluntary work they performed.

“I hope to see kids actually show up,enjoy, and engage with these workshops and activities,” Civiello said. “Aside from Mrs.Trigiano and I, there are many other teachers and staff members that helped and are contributing to these workshops in order to make them happen.”

The county will take attendance on June 23- 24 but will accept a note, phone call or email from parents to inform the schools of any student absence.

“We are asking to be informed of any absences ahead of time on the last two days,” Tony Washington said, “This cooperation by parents would be greatly appreciated.”
