Ariana Grande was recently grabbed and pulled by a fan at the Singapore premiere of the “Wicked” sequel,“Wicked: For Good.” 

Grande attended the premiere of “Wicked: For Good,” in Singapore on Thursday. While walking the red carpet with her co-star Cynthia Erivo, also known as Elphaba Thropp, Johnson Wen ambushed her by pushing past security guards, grabbing Grande by the arm, and forcefully dragging her to snap a picture unconsensually. Erivo immediately jumped to the rescue of her best friend by pushing the man and yelling in his face to get lost before security could even arrive. 

This is apparently not the first time Wen has done something like this. He has previously ambushed Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and others while actively performing on stage. This photo bomber posts this content on his social media page known as Pyjamamann for clout and views, though no one in his comments even seems to be enjoying it and even strongly urges him to stop.

Grande was filled with fear at the event, especially with the previous trauma from her past concert bombing at the Manchester Arena in 2017, which killed 22 people and injured hundreds. Erivo was seen comforting her companion on the walk out of the event later in the evening, after protecting her faster and more efficiently than even her own security team. 

Wen posted a thank you to Grande for letting him jump onto the red carpet with her, even though he had no permission to do so. Later in the night, Wen posted on Instagram that he was “free after being arrested,” but despite being let go, the Singaporean court ruled him a public nuisance. 

Luckily, Grande left the venue with Erivo unscathed, though fear ridden and in shock. Hopefully the next premier will consist of respectful people and stronger safety measures.
