On December 10th, two previous UCL winners, Real Madrid and Manchester City, will be facing each other in the new stage of the Champions League. Real Madrid is the 5th seed, and Man City is the 9th seed. These two teams have been a great rivalry to watch, with their last meeting beginning in the last Champions League campaign, with it being 6-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid. These two teams are tied against each other, with both having five wins against each other and five ties in 15 games. Some believe this is a new rivalry between players Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, who are both the front faces for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. Mbappe has 23 goals and three assists, which is 26 G/A in a total of 19 matches, which is remarkable. Haaland has a total of 20 goals and three assists for a total of 23 G/A in 19 games, which is also remarkable.
Real Madrid’s last five games have been against Girona, Olympiacos, Elche, Rayo Vallecano, and Liverpool. Surprisingly, they’ve only had one win, which was against Olympiacos with the score being 4-3 and Mbappe showing he should be the Ballon d’or winner with all four goals. Real Madrid tied against three teams. Girona 1-1 with Mbappe scoring one, Elche 2-2 with players for Madrid, Dean Huijsen and Jude Bellingham both scoring one. The last team they tied was Rayo Vallecano 0-0. They lost one game to Liverpool 1-0. Real Madrid in their last five games only one win, but they shouldn’t be underestimated as they are known as a good team in the Champions League and especially against team Manchester City.
Real Madrid currently has four Injuries, with three of them coming mid mid-December who are Daniel Carvajal with a Knee Injury, David Alaba with a muscle injury, and Dean Hujisen also with a muscle injury. Ferland Mendy is also another injury for Madrid with a muscle Injury and won’t be back until late December or early January.

Manchester City’s last five games were against Fulham, Leeds, Bayer Leverkusen, Newcastle, and Liverpool. City has had three wins, and they were against Leeds 3-2, with Phil Foden scoring two and Josko Gvardiol scoring one. The second win was against Fulham, 5-4, with Phil Foden scoring a double and one of Fulham’s defenders scoring an own goal. Their last win was against Liverpool, winning 3-0 with Haaland, Nico Gonzalez, and Jeremy Doku all scoring. City has had two losses, one against Bayer Leverkusen, losing 0-2, and Newcastle, 1-2. City has one injury, which is Mateo Kovacic, who has an Ankle Injury and is out until early January.
These two teams have a long history with each other, so this game will be good and memorable.
