After the win against Atletico Madrid, Arsenal will make it back into the final after 20 years, and compete for their first Champions League title in team history. PSG, the reigning champions, will be back in the final after their win against Bayern Munich. They look to make history back to back.
PSG also looks to be in perfect form with players Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia both being in Ballon D’or shouts, and Desire Doue looking to be the best youngster again. Achraf Hakimi and Kvaratskhelia both lead the Champions League with top assists, and their midfield is looking stellar with both portuguese midfielders, Vitinha and Joao Neves leading the way. In defense, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi look to be the best full-backs in the world as of right now. Centre-back Willian Pacho is to be considered “One of the best.” Additionally, Bradley Barcola and Dembele lead their team with ten goals, and Vitinha leads the assist category with seven.
In other news for PSG, Dembele won Ligue 1 Player of the Year. PSG are able to win Ligue 1 if they can beat RC Lens today at 3 P.M. EST., but their full attention has been on Arsenal and Arsenal only.
On Arsenal’s side, Declan Rice is leading the way for their midfield, with five assists and 3,000 minutes played for them, making him the most consistent player besides David Raya on their team. They look to be at the top of the Premier League with five points ahead of Manchester City, and they also are projected to win the Champions League. Their defense seems to be the spotlight, with them having the least amount of goals conceded, with 0.7 per match. They have the most clean sheets in the league, with 18.
Arsenal has not made it to the UCL final since 2006, with Thierry Henry being their main player. In that match, Jens Lehmann got sent off in the 18th minute as a goalie, which usually is never seen in such an important match. At the end of the game Samuel Eto’o won man of the match, with Charles Puyol and Ronaldinho next to him.
PSG won their first UCL last year against Inter Milan. They won 5-0 with Doue at the time, the 19-year-old phenom winning Man of the Match, with two goals and one assist. That year, Dembele won the Ballon D’or and PSG would be known as the new European Giants.
