The New England Patriots defeated the Denver Broncos 10-7, and the Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams 27-31, which means Super Bowl LX is set with an iconic rematch between the Patriots and Seahawks. The first time this match up happened was in Super Bowl XLIX, which ended in an iconic interception on the goal line for the Patriots to seal the game. It’s either going to be the Seahawks getting their revenge or the Patriots getting their first Super Bowl without Tom Brady. But how did these teams get here?
It all started when the Patriots made a crucial pick in the 2024 NFL draft by picking their new star quarterback, Drake Maye, with the third overall pick. The Patriots also selected key defensive player Christian Gonzalez in the 2023 draft, who is having an amazing year. A key player that the Patriots drafted this year was running back TreVeyon Henderson from Ohio State. The Patriots offseason signings also helped them with veteran players such as wide receiver Stefon Diggs and reliable quarterback backup Joshua Dobbs. On top of this, the Patriots’ new head coach, Mike Vrabel, played a key role in leading this team to the Super Bowl.
The Seahawks first fired head coach, Pete Carroll, and hired Mike MacDonald. Then they made a crucial signing to acquire quarterback Sam Darnold. In Darnold’s previous season, he had turned a 7-10 Vikings team into a 14-3 playoff team, so this was a great signing for the Seahawks. Then the Seahawks traded for star wide receiver Rashid Rasheed, who has benefited the Seahawks, along with former superstars such as wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba, running back Kenneth Walker, and cornerback Devon Witherspoon. The Seahawks exploded and dominated the league, which led them to the Super Bowl
Overall, these teams have been carefully crafted and are clearly the best teams. Both of these teams have been through some rough times, but now it’s time to see who wants it more on February 8th, 2026.
