Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid faced each other this Sunday and it was a heated competition. The score was 3-2 with Real Madrid taking it. For the Real Madrid squad, Vini Jr had two goals and Federico Valverde had one, while Atletico had Molina and Ademola Lookman, the new signing from Atlanta both scoring one. 

Meanwhile Valverde will be out for likely two matches with his straight red card on Alex Baena.  For Atletico, Johnny Cardoso is suspended for their upcoming game because of his yellow card he picked up, making it five and suspended for the game against Barcelona and Marcos Llorante.. 

Lookman scored in his first Madrid Derby in the 33rd minute assisted by Giuliano Simeone making it 1-0. Vinicius Jr in the 52nd minute scored a penalty from a David Hancko tackle on Brahim Diaz making it 1-1. In the 55th minute, Valverde scored off a bad pass by Hancko and a bad attempt of a pass by Jose Gimenez making it 2-1. Then in the 66th minute Nahuel Molina scored a beautiful goal from outside of the box making it 2-2.  To seal the game in the 72nd minute Vini Jr takes a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold and moves into the box, takes a cut inside and shoots a beautiful curled shot to win the game and make it 3-2. 

Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe marked their comebacks to Madrid from injuries both providing a solid performance and Eder Militao soon making his comeback as he was seen in training with the first team. 

The Madrid Derby (El Derbi Madrileno) has been a historical matchup going back all the way to 1902 making this game the 273rd time they played. Real Madrid has the most wins with 92, Koke from Atletico has the most appearances in 45, and the top goalscorer was Cristiano Ronaldo with 22. This matchup is historical and now with this match Real Madrid can add their name once again to the sheet.
