The auxiliary trailers outside of South Lakes are currently a physical reminder of the overcrowding in the region. However, students hope to change this.
According to junior Emily Lopynski, leadership and foreign language students plan on giving the trailers a major makeover in response to numerous complaints about their unattractiveness.
“Our school recently underwent a renovation, and we really want the outside of our school to be as spirited and beautiful as the inside is,” said Lopynski.
An important goal of this project is to incorporate the different cultures of the foreign language classes that the trailers will host. They plan to achieve this by recruiting students to paint murals on the plywood at the bottom of the trailers. They also hope to plant gardens around the exteriors and hang banners and flags from various countries.
Students who want to help beautify the trailer area should contact leadership adviser Mike Astudillo as soon as possible.
