Sophomores organize Alzheimer race for MYP project

Sophomores Rebecca Hogarth, Raquel Jacobs, and Kristina Woodward organized a 5K race called “The Remarkable Run” to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer Association.

The race will take place March 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. beginning and ending in the South Lakes parking lot.

“We wanted to do an MYP project that matters,” Woodward said. “We have family members that have been affected by Alzheimer’s.”

The race has sponsors including Einstein Bagels and Chick-fil-A and will feature the Chic- fil-A cow at the end of the run.

“Our goal is to have over 100 people register,” Jacobs said. “We also made a Facebook page called ‘The Remarkable Run 2014’ for more information.”

Registration costs $35 and all funds will be donated to the Alzheimer Association. Registration includes a shirt and a number for the race.
