How is the freshman football team looking?

We’re looking good. The direction we’re moving is forward. Every week, we’ve been able to produce more offense, correct some of our defense issues which results in better overall football play.

What is your coaching philosophy?

My coaching philosophy is two-fold. First, that they are student athletes, emphasis being student. My other philosophy is working to perfection.

Who is standing out?

I don’t look at the individual, I look at the team aspect. Although one or two players might stand out at a given time, it takes the whole team to produce a W [win] for the team.

Who are the team leaders and why?

Two players have stood out predominantly in leadership qualities. Those are our inside linebacker Justin May and quarterback Eric Kiss.

What is your favorite part of coaching?

I like working with kids and teaching them the importance of competition through a team mentality.

Do you think you will coach football next year and why?

Yes, for the same reasons I like it now. I enjoy working with the kids.
