Senior Key Club president Anna Lopynski organized the annual Feed A Child campaign at South Lakes, with a new twist this year.

Feed A Child raises money for malnourished children in Bo Sierra Lione. This year, classes are competing to raise money for the cause.

The representative of the class that raises the most money plans to shave his head bald.

Senior representative Logan Nasr volunteered to sacrifice his brunette locks to assist the Feed A Child campaign.

“The Key Club said they thought I would raise a lot of money,” Nasr said. “I figure me looking funny is worth it to help people.”

Previously, South Lakes raised over $1,000, and the campaign as a whole raised $50,000.

“Yesterday we raised over $100,” Lopynski said. “We are hoping to raise as much as possible by the end of the week. Hopefully that is more than we made last year.”

Key Club sponsor Zach Carter hopes to gain widespread participation for this event.

“I became sponsor of this club because I know the initiative these kids have,” Carter said. “I knew they would take the lead and manage to get great participation for all four classes.”

Key Club meets after school Fridays and all students are welcome to join. The club will sell baked goods tomorrow in the main hall after school.
