This year, Junior Lainey Bee transferred from Langley in order to join the Seahawk varsity volleyball team. How has your transition been between Langley and South Lakes?

It’s been really great. Everyone’s been really nice and helpful.

You are injured right now. Tell us a bit about what happened and how you’re dealing with it.

I strained my rotator cuff because I wasn’t warming up my shoulder before hitting. I’m taking it easy during practice and working with the trainers to heal it and get back on the court as soon as possible.

How does the Seahawk volleyball team compare to Langley’s?

Langley’s volleyball program was intense and the pressure to perform well was very high.  I feel as though the team at South Lakes has bonded a lot better and there’s more of a focus on how the team works as a whole rather than individually.

Do you think the team has a good chance at winning districts?

I definitely think we’re a strong enough team, depending on how the other teams perform we could have a shot at districts.

As a whole, what can the team improve on?

I think our team could work on keeping a competitive attitude in games, because it all comes down to who wants it more.
