QRU? Freshmen volleyball coach Jordan Hostetler

Jordan Hostetler is the coach of the first South Lakes volleyball team to ever win a volleyball match against Stone Bridge.

What did you do to prepare for the game?

There wasn’t much that we had to do because skill wise I was more than confident. All I did to prepare was ensure the team that they could beat Stone Bridge and to keep a positive attitude and to remain confident.

What were some of your thoughts going through your head after you lost the first game?

After we lost all I could think was that they were definitely a beatable team .We just had to start strong and stay strong. I never once thought of us possibly losing the game.

The second game was really close and the team won by only a few points. Did you think we had a chance to beat Stone Bridge in the final set?  What was your game plan?

The game was so close, I knew for a fact we could beat them. No, it wouldn’t be our easiest team but I knew we had the heart. My game plan was to keep in the team that already won on the court to keep up that momentum from the game before.

How does it feel to be the first South Lakes volleyball team to ever defeat a Stone Bridge team?

Honestly, it was possibly the most satisfying win being a coach and having played for South Lakes. Stone Bridge was always the team to beat so knowing I contributed to a win feels amazing. I was so proud of my team after I almost cried. They wanted it more than the other team and they proved that through their persistence.

How did the team celebrate the monumental win?

We all went out screaming, some with tears, even the girls that didn’t get to play were the happiest I’ve seen. The next day at practice we had a fun day. They really deserved it.
