The famous child actor known for his roles in the popular Disney show “Even Stevens,” and the family-friendly movie “Holes,” was caught falling off the deep end. LaBeouf was seen inebriated and wreaking havoc on the streets during the wild, widely loved celebration of Mardi Gras.
The 39-year-old actor was kicked out of a New Orleans’ business on Royal Street because he had caused a disturbance in the business by violently and repeatedly assaulting two people. He had to be held down by multiple people until police arrived.
LaBeouf was taken to a hospital for treatment for injuries that occurred during the altercation, and was subsequently arrested upon his release on Feb. 17. It is unknown what led to the fight, but as stated before, he was heavily intoxicated, so his state possibly played a large factor.
LaBeouf also made a post on X after his arrest and later release, on Feb. 18 that simply stated, “Free me.”
Hours after his release from jail, he was reportedly seen dancing and continuing his celebration of Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street before it was shut down for good.
This intense display of violence by LaBeouf isn’t particularly unknown to his image. He was formerly sued in 2020 by his ex-girlfriend that he was with for nine months. He was charged for sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress that he caused his ex-girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs, during their tumultuous yet short relationship. Twigs stated that he subjected her to relentless abuse during the relationship.
The actor has stated in the past that he struggles with sobriety, and he has also been arrested several times due to his pattern of extreme intoxication.
