With winter activities coming to an end, spring sports are just around the corner. South Lakes offers numerous activities including baseball, lacrosse (boys/girls), outdoor track and field, soccer (boys/girls), softball and tennis.

All tryouts for the spring season will be held on Feb. 23. Before trying out, students must turn in required forms. These forms can be found on www.southlakesathletics.org and must be completed/returned to the Activities Office prior to the tryout date.

Students interested in managing a spring sport should contact the head coach of the team and present their interests. Senior Emma Ferguson has managed baseball for the past two years.

“Besides my love for the sport, I am so excited to spend another season with the team,” Ferguson said. “I love watching the team grow and seeing the incredible things they can accomplish.”

As the date of tryouts approach rapidly, student’s mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness are rising.

“I cannot wait for this year’s lacrosse season,” Junior Ankur Jain said. “It is the most exciting time of the year for me.”
