Due to changes made to Fairfax County’s return-to-school plan and the end of the first semester, scheduling changes have been made to week of January 18, 2021.

 

Monday, January 18: No School to observe Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day. MLK Day is dedicated to honoring the life and work of Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Junior. People are encouraged to volunteer their time to best remember his legacy of sacrifice and fighting oppression.

Tuesday, January 19: Regular school day.

 

Wednesday, January 20: No school for Inauguration Day. DC and Virginia are preparing for further violence as President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris are sworn into office. Read more here. People are encouraged to avoid the District and Metros, if possible.

Thursday, January 21: Semi-optional. Teachers should be giving direct instructions regarding their decisions. It is best to go to classes, since many are continuing to utilize their allotted time. 

 

Friday, January 22: Friday is a half day because of the end of the second quarter.
