Next week boys’ basketball will travel to two of the toughest venues in the district.
On Tuesday the Seahawks will travel to Fairfax High School to play the seven and ten Rebels. Fairfax’s leading scorer Zack Burnett (15.9ppg) will be out for revenge after being held to only seven points, his second lowest point total of the season, in the last meeting of these teams.
This will be a tough matchup for the Seahawks as Fairfax is known for having a strong fan base at both home and away games. As well as playing tough defense on Burnett, the Seahawks will have to pay close attention to John Robic (14.1ppg) who managed to drop eighteen points on the Seahawks earlier this month.
Later in the week the Seahawks will try to take down a ten and six Marshall team who has lost only two games at home this season. Marshall defeated South Lakes by thirteen points in their last meeting where four of Marshall’s top five scorers had at least nine points.
This will be a tough matchup for the Seahawks’ newly reshuffled roster but look for the new lineup to give the Seahawks an element of surprise. With sophomore Zack Pearl a potentially permanent addition to the team after being called up from JV last week, he has the opportunity to become a pivotal player in the Seahawks attempt to finish their season on a strong note and enter the playoffs with a winning record in the district.
