This is the last year that graduation will take place in the gymnasium at South Lakes High School. Next year’s class has over 600 students and due to concerns over space and enough tickets per family, graduation for 2014 will take place at the Patriot Center.

Seniors must arrive by 2:00 p.m. and graduation will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Graduation will be followed by the All Night Grad Party at 10:30 p.m.

The speakers for graduation will be English teacher Alison Schreck and seahawk senior and Sentinel print editor Edgeri Hudlin.

Assistant principal Jeanene Sims is in charge of planning graduation for the class of 2013.

“It’s been quite a year, I certainly wish them well,” Sims said. “It’s been a fun ride, they are a very spunky, energetic, opinionated group of kids. It’s been tumultuous. There have been some good days and certainly there have been some bad, but we have weathered some storms together and I think we’re all stronger for it.”
