Varsity swimmers will compete in the state competition beginning Feb. 21 in Richmond. The boys concluded their regular season with a 1-6 record and the girls finished with a 3-4 record.

Despite the losing records, the team has developed a strong bond.

“High school swim has been a new experience for me,” freshman Megan Carney said. “I love it because I’ve made many new friends from it and it’s just a change from my regular club swim team.”

Swimmers have enjoyed the opportunity to form relationships with students in other classes.

“Swim team is going extremely well and the connections between upperclassmen and underclassmen are strong as ever,” senior Mark Lawson said.

The team hopes that the close-knit group will continue to make great strides towards success.

“The girls have great spirit this year so it will make it that much easier win future meets,” sophomore Maddie Miles said.
