South Lakes Ice Hockey will face off against long-time rival Herndon at 6 p.m. tonight at SkateQuest.

The event, sponsored by Hardcore Hockey Elite Training, will begin an annual high school varsity rivalry game tradition.

“We are excited to be invited to be the first host of Hardcore Hockey’s Classic event,” team manager Annie Nasr said. “It’s a great way for our community to support our hockey athletes.”

The game will feature free prizes, raffles, and giveaways, as well as halftime entertainment.

“We’re hoping to draw attention to these hockey events to encourage more participation since most of the high schools in the area now have club hockey teams,” Nasr said.

Tickets will be $2. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.
