The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl over a dominant performance against the New England Patriots 29-13. With the Seattle Seahawks running back,Kenneth Walker, winning the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player by averaging five yards a carry and 135 yards in total (ESPN).
This game was defensively focused, only letting up a total of nine points before halftime. Only one team was able to make field goals, which was the Seahawks. Then in the second half the Seahawks exploited the weak side of the Patriots offensive line, which kept the Patriots from putting up any points on the Seahawks. However, the Seahawks kicker, Jason Myer, went five for five on field goal attempts, which was the majority of the Seahawks points and two more than the Patriots scored all game.
This Super Bowl also included four records that were broken. The first record that was broken was the number of field goals made by Myer, which was five. The second record broken by Myer, was the number of points scored in the NFL season, which was 206 points. The previous record holder was LaDanian Tomlinson, who only had 198 points. The third and final record that Myer broke, was the amount of points scored by a kicker, which was 17 points (NFL). Lastly, the final record that was broken was by the Patriots, which was the number of Super Bowls lost, which is now six.
Puerto Rican halftime performer, Bad Bunny, played hits such as, “Titi Me Preguntó,” ”Yo Perreo Sola,” ”Safera,” ”Party” and ”DtMF.” Bad Bunny also had famous Puerto Rican singer, Ricky Martin, sing Bad Bunny’s song ”Lo Que le Pasó a Hawaii.” Then Bad Bunny had Lady Gaga perform her song, ”Die with a smile.”(Times of India) There were more famous guests such as, Yankees baseball player, Jazz Chislom Jr, Braves baseball player Ronald Acuña Jr, Actor Pedro Pascual, singer Cardi B, singer Karol G, and actress Jessica Alba (Desert Sun)&(Yahoo Sports).
Overall, this Super Bowl was dominated by the Seattle Seahawks with key players such as ghostbuster Sam Darnold, Emerald city route artist Jaxson Smith-Nijba and Super Bowl MVP Kennth “K9” Walker. Then was topped by a half time show performed by an iconic urban artist, Bad Bunny.
